Cashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. They process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area. They proactively seek product knowledge to provide customers with information and identify selling opportunities. They follow all policies and procedures to ensure that shrink is minimized.

• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions at main registers and/or Self-Checkout
• Provide fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service to customers
• Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area
• Proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities
• Follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink
• Support Head Cashier by expediting price checks and approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns as delegated for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental
• Assist in supervising, coaching and training of other Front End Associates; participate in training of new Cashiers and use available tools to coach and develop others
• Provide first-level escalation for customer issues

• Preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is 1+ years of Cashier experience
