Job Title:
Machinist Technician
This is a six-month contract-to-hire position. The role involves setting up and operating machinery, performing tool changes, and ensuring all operations adhere to safety regulations. The candidate must be able to learn and operate multiple machines, perform inspections, and ensure work quality.
Job DescriptionSet up machines, including tool changes, according to instructions and specifications.
Place and secure tooling using clamps and wrenches.
Calculate material removal from parts.
Set gauges to measure OD, , and 3‑pt race.
Adjust controls to regulate machines.
Follow all plant safety regulations.
Support departmental performance goals.
Learn and operate multiple machines.
Perform other machining duties as assigned.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to sign off paperwork to maintain job accuracy and consistency.
Ability to work safely and wear personal protective equipment.
Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and measurement gauges.
Ability to read, write, and speak effectively.
Ability to work independently in a high‑stress environment.
Ability to determine machinery functionality based on specifications.
Skills & Qualifications
Competent in general math.
Some knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must pass a near‑vision eye test to Jaeger 1 and a color perception test.

Work EnvironmentThe position is located on a climate‑controlled factory floor with small amounts of machine noise. The dress code is business casual, with a blue coat required in the work area. The role includes training on a first shift for three months and then moving to a second or third shift. Steel‑toed shoes are needed, and all tools are provided. FAA regulations apply, and random drug testing is required.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 – $27.00/hr.
