Amentum is seeking a Facility Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to support our industrial operations & maintenance team at a major automotive manufacturing facility in the Vance, SC area.

Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; various hours may be required based on business demand.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $70,000 -$80,000 per year (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Primary Function

This position’s primary function is to plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for a team of facility maintenance technicians. The Planner/Scheduler acts as liaison between Amentum staff, subcontractors and clients for the planning and scheduling of maintenance work orders. In addition, this position will work with technical leads and technicians to prioritize and plan work according to facility requirements.

Responsibilities

Experience working with a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) is required, as is the ability to create spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and present planning/scheduling metrics to management staff. Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced industrial, large commercial or logistics environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning preventive/corrective maintenance activities daily for maintenance technicians; obtaining proposals from qualified suppliers; preparing requisitions; providing schedules and coordinating work; and developing machine specific and general job plans.

  • Distribute Preventive Maintenance and Demand Work Orders in the form of a weekly schedule and assist Supervisor and/or Leads with job coordination.
  • Collaborate with Technical leads and technicians to properly plan work orders including material management, task estimating for budgetary approval and customer communication.
  • Utilize CMMS to record work order classification, priority, activities and trade.
  • Analyze and report data on Demand and PM Work Orders such as overdue, backlog, received/completed statistics and additional reports as requested for monthly reporting to Program Manager and Supervisor.
  • Work with the Supervisor, Leads, Technicians and Procurement to ensure accurate and timely communication with the requestor(s) regarding status of work orders such as awaiting parts, on hold, or that have been rescheduled.
  • Work with contract administrator ensures timely and accurate vendor support.
  • Provide recommendations with regards to facilities equipment and utility systems maintenance programs.
  • Comply with established safety and environmental procedures.
  • Adjust to changing conditions and occasionally work second shift, holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Perform under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment in problem resolution.
  • Communicate facilities requirements to team leads.
  • Comply with and enforce Amentum and company policies and safety practices, procedures and guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and the use of PPE.
  • Respond to emergency calls (by phone or in person) during off‑hours and determine resources needed to mitigate problem (Amentum or subcontractor).
  • Other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.
Minimum Requirements
