Job OverviewPlans and develops comprehensive controls and automation technology systems and architecture for complex processes and large production systems and draws up standards and resolutely put into practice.

Responsibilities- Execute the plant’s controls architecture with focus on process stability, system availability, as well as ease of operation and maintenance.
- Troubleshooting complex PLC‑equipment problems and performing systems tests in line and sandbox.
- Analyses designs, programs, simulations, and test procedures for automated machinery and processes and communicates discrepancies to vendors for corrections.
- Contributes to new equipment planning and performs buy‑off checks for PLC/Automation equipment.
- Execute software changes and optimization on automation equipment.
- Executes PMs, Safety Checks & work orders on automation equipment.
- Optimization, debugging & rewriting of automation software programs.
- Works with planning, engineering and commissioning of controls equipment till final buy‑offs of equipment in the shops together with suppliers and MBV production / maintenance teams.
- Driving continuous improvement process to optimize manufacturing efficiency in PLC/Robot/Automation software.
- Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings & supports/guides technicians on shift to review logic to resolve breakdowns.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Required:
4+ years relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate + 3 years relevant experience; OR Relevant associates degree + 1 year relevant experience. - Preferred: 5+ years relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate + 4 years relevant experience; OR Relevant assoc. degree + 2 years relevant experience.
- Indirectly relevant experience: experience working with automation equipment, mechanical repairs, working toward a related degree or certification.
- Solid understanding of computer programming and software development.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex PLC‑equipment problems and perform complex systems tests in line and sandbox.
- MB buy‑off experience to ramp up new installation & check line builder implementation regarding ECM-Standard.
- Experience with PLC’s and robotics and automation and process equipment (Integra Wave 5/6/7 & Kuka KRC4).
- Optimization of series programming, cycle time optimization, archive of backups, correction of findings in the PLC program.
- Strong process engineering “LEAN” skill set.
