Olympic Health and Recovery Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ARNP or Psychiatric ARNP to join our interdisciplinary team in providing low-barrier, trauma-informed, and just medical and psychiatric care to Program Participants. This role serves as a critical safety-net position designed to address gaps in the behavioral health system while supporting the long-term goals of the Trueblood Element Programs.

The ARNP will work in close collaboration with our forensic mental health programs (FPATH, FHARPS, OCRP) and DSHS Forensic Navigators to deliver effective medical and prescriber services to individuals regardless of their location in the community or their insurance/Medicaid status. Services will be provided in jails, shelters, community-based settings, and other non-traditional environments to ensure timely access to care and continuity in medication maintenance.

Additionally, the ARNP will provide backup coverage to the medical department as needed, supporting other programs and ensuring continuity of care across the organization.

Salary Range: $140,701 - $165,847 annually based on education, experience, and parity within the organization.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

This position is classified as FLSA Exempt - Not Overtime Eligible.

This position reports to the Quality Assurance and Clinical Standards Manager

Core Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Diagnosis

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.
  • Assess mental and emotional health disorders and formulate diagnoses.
  • Perform mental health histories and assessments.

Treatment Planning

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Assist in the development of long-term behavioral health strategies.
  • Support stabilization of patients discharged from mental health and/or substance use hospitalization.
  • Coordinate with Trueblood elements to ensure accessible prescribing services and reduce gaps in medication maintenance.

Medication Management

  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD).
  • Evaluate side effects and manage medication adherence.
  • Consult with medical providers on therapeutic drug regimens and treatment strategies.

Medical Services

  • Provide wound and foot care.
  • Conduct STI, HIV, and Hepatitis C testing.
  • Offer birth control services.
  • Distribute naloxone and provide overdose prevention training.
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions.

Outreach and Community Connection

  • Deliver care in jails, shelters, and community-based settings.
  • Engage in outreach to connect individuals with appropriate services.
  • Promote and encourage entry into behavioral health and substance use treatment.
  • Work closely with therapists, psychiatrists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide consultation to staff regarding patient cases and medication management.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and trainings.

Crisis Intervention

  • Provide immediate support and intervention in urgent or crisis situations.
  • Use motivational interviewing techniques to support behavior change.

Documentation and Administration

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient visits, progress, and treatment plans.
  • Adhere to state and federal regulations, professional standards, and agency policies.
  • Document in accordance with licensing and third-party requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives using evidence-based practices.

Medical Department Support

  • Provide backup coverage to the medical department as needed.
  • Support other programs to ensure continuity and accessibility of care across the organization.

Education and Experience
  • Current Washington State ARNP license with prescriptive authority.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) preferred.
  • Completion or willingness to complete the Waiver Qualifying Treatment of Opioid Disorder Training.
  • DEA registration to prescribe buprenorphine (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must be able to pass required background checks as required by OHRS contractual requirements.
