Salary: $1333 or $1500 per credit, depending on level of graduate degree
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has a current need for adjunct faculty to teach various engineering courses, including lower division, upper division, and graduate engineering courses. Teaching assignments may include lecture courses or lab courses. Evening and weekday teaching are available. In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year, applications are accepted continuously for teaching in our mechanical engineering program.
We are interested in instructors from all backgrounds but have a particular interest in those related to mechatronics, programming, and machine learning.
Position Responsibilities:
Excellence in teaching is at the core of Saint Martin's University. We expect you to be an excellent teacher; to be current in engineering; to engage students actively in their own learning, and to set high standards regarding course content. You are expected to provide students with feedback on their coursework in a timely and meaningful manner.
Required Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related area.
* Demonstrated potential for successful teaching at the university level
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff, including a commitment to cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related area.
* Demonstrated successful teaching ability at the university level
