Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Insight Global is seeking an AI Solutions Engineer for one of our biotech companies based out of the greater Omaha, NE area. Our client develops and manufactures clinical laboratory products used to stabilize, preserve, and control biological samples. Their products help ensure accurate diagnostic testing in labs and hospitals. This role is hybrid remote, three (3) days onsite and two remote days.

In this role, we are looking for someone who is comfortable being the sole AI Solutions Engineer, building out AI solutions from scratch. As the AI Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and enabling enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across the organization. This role focuses on applied generative AI, including agent development, prompting, and workflow design, with a strong emphasis on data readiness, enablement, and knowledge sharing.

The AI Solutions Engineer partners closely with the Director of IT to execute our client's AI strategy, ensure underlying data is clean, reliable, and suitable for AI use, and deliver enterprise AI agents. This role collaborates with data and business teams to translate business needs into governed, high impact AI solutions that integrate into existing systems and workflows.

• Design, build, test, and deploy enterprise AI agents using Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio.
• Develop and refine prompting patterns, reusable agent templates, and AI workflows.
• Provide technical input to the AI Steering Committee on feasibility, value, and risk of proposed use cases.
• Ensure AI solutions align with governance, security, compliance, and acceptable use standards.
• Document AI agents, workflows, prompting patterns, and enablement practices.
• Support enterprise adoption of Microsoft Copilot through best practice sharing and guidance.
• Stay current on generative AI and Copilot advancements and share insights with leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working with generative AI tools, including prompt engineering and agent based solutions.
• Experience working with Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience designing or supporting business workflows, automation, or decision support systems.
• Strong communication skills, ability to explain technical concepts to non technical audiences.

• Experience designing human in the loop AI solutions.
• Familiarity with AI governance, security, compliance, and access control considerations.
• Experience building reusable AI components, templates, or enablement frameworks.
• Background supporting enterprise technology adoption or change enablement.
