Description
The Program Development Mentor is a crucial part of the management team that leads the development and implementation of programs in a supportive environment, managing ongoing program administration, including planning, organizing, staffing and leading program activities.
Responsibilities- Directly supervise 5 to 10 interns under the Programs department.
- Oversee and assist in various development and operations of the Programs department, including but not limited to: developing structured programs to fulfill the mission and goals of Thaddeus, designing and implementing procedures and strategies according to the strategic objectives of Thaddeus, devising evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determining the areas of improvements.
- Develop and manage general training and opportunities for Programs staffs.
- Develop and facilitate workshops for Programs interns to learn and grow in the field.
- Participate in group and individual mentoring, and maintain strong relationships with staff and the community.
- Administer support and guidance to the executive director, fellow management, and other staff when complex and sensitive questions/issues arise.
- Develop forms and documented records of the operations within the department and the clients.
- Must currently reside in the U.S. or have prior work experience in the field within the U.S.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Management, Psychology, Social Work or a relevant field. - 5 Plus years of experience in a similar role or other managerial position.
- Ability to understand nonprofit business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in objectives, productivity, and development of the Programs department within the nonprofit.
- Ability to create a vision and goals for the Programs team; inspire and motivate the team to achieve excellence in terms of Thaddeus staff support and core Programs Department processes.
- Clinical knowledge and experience in providing mental health services to children and families.
- Understanding and experience in the delivery of services to an ethnically and economically diverse population.
- A high level of integrity, accuracy, flexibility, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
- Strong technical and organizational skills, in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment.
- Excellent multi-tasking, time management, interpersonal communication, and business writing skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills and motivated by creating solutions for teams.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, and independently with little instructions and strong attention to details.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Office 365), Canva, and Adobe DC.
- Manager must have the appropriate technology, internet connection, and ability to function in a virtual capacity via Microsoft Teams.
1-Year minimum.
5 Hrs./week including mandatory meetings.
Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
- Weekly All Staff Meeting:
Tuesdays 9 AM - 10 AM PST - Weekly Development Meetings:
Thursdays 1 PM - 2 PM PST - Monthly meeting with Thaddeus' president: usually the 3rd Thursday of every month from 3-4 PM PST.
