As a Business Account Manager on our team, you will be responsible for managing an existing customer base, growing the existing customer base, and for new business account acquisition within a defined market/territory.

Location: This is an in-office position, reporting to our La Vergne, TN office every day of the week.

Compensation: Account Managers are targeted to make $68,580+ per year (Base + Commission).

Responsibilities
  • Manage existing account base by regularly contacting accounts (via phone and in person), act as their resource for sales negotiations, and meet or exceed the sales and revenue growth goals. Manage MACD (moves, adds, changes, deletions) to retain customers and reduce churn. Provide education on the industry, technology and TDS products and services.
  • Focus on market share growth by prospecting and selling new businesses. Identify, contact, and build relationships with prospective customers through a combination of telephone and in-person cold calls, networking, and referrals to obtain appointments. Build customer solutions, propose, and close sales to meet or exceed sales and revenue growth goals.
  • Create proposals, write, and submit accurate and timely new orders following the established sales process. Manage and submit MACD for the existing customer base.
  • Develop a tactical sales plan for prospecting, customer growth and retention to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual goals. Maintain accurate activity tracking, customer status and forecasts using the CRM system. Report activity and progress on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Attend industry and trade group meetings and local events as needed to increase corporate visibility, identify opportunities, and develop industry contacts. Maintain relations with contacts and lead sources, including after-hours events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • 2+ years of inside or outside sales experience.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, insurance, and access to reliable transportation.

Other Qualifications

  • Experience in successful prospecting and generating leads through cold calling.
  • Access to cell phone.
  • Previous telecommunications experience.
  • Winning "can-do" attitude and strong work ethic with a track record of success.
  • Ability to set goals and attain them with a plan, execution, and measurement of performance.
  • Well organized with strong time management, multi-tasking, and attention to detail.
  • Customer service orientation and a genuine interest in helping internal and external customers.
  • Comprehensive product and application knowledge with the ability to resolve customer issues.
  • Competitive nature with a mastery of our sales processes and practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and management.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed.
  • Must maintain satisfactory sales quotas.
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, email, Internet).
