As a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be working in one of the most popular departments in our store. You are responsible for providing a high level of customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge and preparation techniques. A hands‑on position, the Meat Clerk receives, stores, and grinds meats; unloads and transports fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks;

counts and weighs incoming articles and compares results against an invoice; examines meats in storage; and rotates meats to avoid aging. You will provide prompt and friendly customer service; assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs; maintain a positive, customer‑focused work environment; and keep the department clean and organized.

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.
• Dependable, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping: clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Capable of standing continuously for up to 4 hours; total shift of 8 hours, walking up to 2 miles per shift.
• Work inside a temperature‑controlled area.
• Good vision required for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 and 90 lbs., from 4” to 60”, up to 10 feet.
• Move pallets up to 500 lbs. using a pallet jack, up to 85 lbs. of force, up to 100 feet.
• Move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs., requiring up to 25 lbs. of force, up to 50 feet.
• Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs., requiring >35 lbs. of force, up to 2 feet.

The pay range for this position is $17.20 - $23.20 per hour, based on applicable experience and qualifications.
