Duties
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Rescue Action Plan.
  • Coordinate, manage, and supervise all functional groups involved in rescue activities.
  • Determine rescue organizational and logistical needs.
  • Develop receiving briefings and situation reports and ensure that all rescue personnel are kept informed of mission objectives and status changes.
  • Provide situation updates and maintain records and reports.
  • Demonstrate proficiency while preparing performance evaluations for assigned personnel.
  • Ensure accountability and maintenance for all issued equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in ensuring accountability of all assigned personnel.
  • Develop a mission specific Rapid Intervention Plan including personnel & equipment needs.
  • Oversee the human resource functions of assigned team, including performance appraisals, coaching and counseling team. Recommend and provide input for salary and job change actions to upper management. Ensure that all personnel receive safety and process training. Coach and counsel team to improve technical skills and interpersonal and problem resolution skills. Work to identify and provide opportunities for team to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Assist others as assigned.
Skills and Experience
  • Must have completed the following trainings: OSHA Training, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), Respiratory Fit Tested, Fall Protection, Fire Safety / Fire Watch, Confined Space Attendant, Entrant, Rescue, Technical Rope Rescue Level II as required by facility. Hazmat Technician (40), OSHA 511/501, General Industry Safety and Health First Responder or better preferred. Technical Rope Rescue Level III, Technical Rope Rescue Instructor. Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) preferred.

    Offshore Water Survival (HUET), SAFE GULF, USCG/MMS Rules & Regulations, Basic H2S, B.P. Offshore Orientation (License To Go Offshore) First Responder or better, EMT Basic or better preferred, Healthcare Provider CPR, First Aid with AED, Rescue Technician, Confined Space Entry & Rescue Certification, NFPA 1006 and Pro-Board Certification a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and other function-specific software.
  • Must understand and effectively manage key financial issues that impact rescue functions and the business.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws, local ordinances, OSHA, and other rules and regulations associated with facility and employee Health & Safety.
  • Organization skills and self-motivation are critical to the success of this position.
  • Must possess high ethical standards demonstrated by their approach to business.
  • Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, an unwavering commitment to safety and health and other company policies and procedures.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Educational Requirements
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college in a related field and five (5) years’ industrial experience or equivalent training combined with ten (10) years’ industrial experience preferred.
  • Must have experience in a Rescue environment within an industrial service, refining, petrochemical or manufacturing environment.
