To thrive, you should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 5–15 years of hands‑on experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment, supporting process engineering, plant operations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, process safety management (PSM), and regulatory compliance (OSHA/EPA) in an industrial setting is highly valued.
  • Solid technical knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mass transfer, and reaction engineering, with demonstrated expertise in process troubleshooting, data analysis, and production optimization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office tools
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally.
  • Capable of working in both office environment and operating chemical facility, including climbing stairs and ladders and working outdoors in hot and cold temps, with occasional travel as required.
Responsibilities for the Chemical Engineer / Senior Chemical Engineer:
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Production, Maintenance, EHS, and Quality to deliver technical engineering support and improve plant reliability, asset performance, and operational uptime in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Evaluate and interpret process data, KPIs, and performance metrics to drive data‑driven decision‑making, throughput improvement, cost reduction, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage capital projects and process improvement initiatives, including scope development, engineering design review, budgeting support, commissioning, and post‑implementation validation.
  • Champion environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards by supporting Process Safety Management (PSM), Management of Change (MOC), and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers and technical staff, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and best practices to strengthen engineering capability and long‑term operational excellence.
