This position is for the school year.
Provide high-level literacy support for the school community, including students, teachers and parents. Implement research-based strategies to enable students to develop competencies and skills in the assigned content area.
Job Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate in subject area assigned
- Three years teaching experience preferred
- Deep understanding of scientifically-basedinstructionalpractices for teaching and assessing student progress toward achievement of benchmarks
- Knowledge of research-based strategies
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction, including knowledge of the TEKS and STARR
- Experience working with small groups of students to improve skills in assigned content area preferred
- Experience working with at-risk students within RTI framework preferred
- Work with small groups of students intervening to improve skills in the core content area as identified by the campus principal
- Establish positive rapport with students and work closely with classroom teachers
- Use appropriate core and supplemental early intervention materials that align with district and state curriculum and provide Tier III support
- Know how to use and implement a range of effective strategies and analyze instruction
- Report on student progress to the classroom teacher of record and campus administration
- Gather and assist in analyzing data and write reports
- Provide resources and training to campus staff on scientifically-based reading research and evidence-based practices for teaching literacy
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established by Individual Education Plans (IEP)
- Assist teachers with the selection of instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Create an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff to promote professional growth and accelerate struggling students
- Attend and assist with Early Intervention Team as needed
- Assist in grade-level classrooms by teaching and coaching
- Other duties as assigned

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.

- $63,000 for Beginning teacher with "0" years experience (based on Compensation Plan)
- $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
- Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
