McCarthy Building Companies is hiring a Tugboat Operator for our exciting Marine project in La Porte, TX
. In this role, you will operate and navigate a tugboat to push material and crane barges around a construction site. The ideal applicant has 3+ years of proven experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operates and provides upkeep of work boat on which they are assigned
  • Operates and navigates boat to and from designated areas
  • Perform daily safety inspections
  • Maintains daily logs and record books as necessary
  • Works and maintains safety procedures
  • Transport materials and crew as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Must maintain active communication with Coast Guard and Marine Vessel Traffic
Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid license to operate with towing endorsement
  • Must have TWIC card
  • Previous experience in marine/civil construction projects and/or barge fleeting required
  • Must have reliable transportation to the job site
  • Must have professional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Proof of Identity and employment authorization
