- We are currently seeking an experienced I&E to be based in LaPorte, Texas. This position requires NCCER Instrument Tech. Certification at least Texas Electricians Apprentice License and Valid Driver's License. Maintenance position working 9/80's plus occasional OT - NO Per Diem.

Instrumentation and Electrician Technician

• Test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating and measuring instrument devices to ensure specified operating performance using hand tools, testing and calibrating instruments and equipment and precision measuring instruments.
• Read and understand manuals, blueprint schematics and testing specifications. Have some knowledge of electrical schematics and PLCs. Other duties may be assigned.
• Layout, fabricate and install tubing and tub trays.
• Apply knowledge of mathematics to instrumentation, such as ratio and proportions, unit conversions, and related calculations.
• Read blueprints, schematics and loop drawings and prepare job reports.
• Assemble and disassemble all types of electronic process controls, pneumatic controls and hydraulic systems and components.
• Calibrate equipment using common calibration procedures and interpret/apply related procedures.
• Understand the principles related to pH, redox and equipment needed to measure them and control pH and redox of a liquid.
• Work with electrical concepts including Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Law, diodes, capacitors and other electrical components.
• Understand steam reactions and related properties; apply chemistry and physics concepts relevant to instrumentation (e.g., specific gravity, density, boiling points, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and check electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment.
• Understand instrumentation loops and the function of each component within different loop types.
• Understand common chemical plant process equipment such as distillation columns, heat exchangers, boilers, turbines and compressors.
• Apply procedures for measuring pressure, level, flow, temperature, weight, density, heat flux, humidity and moisture.
• Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet state regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education – no minimum education requirements.

Experience – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
