Salesperson​/Store Driver Store

Advance Auto Parts is seeking entry‑level Salesperson and Store Driver positions to support our DIY automotive retail business.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent selling experience to DIY customers via in‑store visits and phone calls.
• Achieve personal sales goals and help the store meet overall sales targets.
• Deliver DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper blade installs.
• Maintain product and operational standards in the store.
• Execute inventory processes: truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock management.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
• Support general stocking, including truck stocking and back stock.
• Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.

Success Factors

• Basic driving and navigation ability.
• Proficiency using a delivery board system.
• Friendly and effective communication.
• Ability to locate and stock parts.
• Safety knowledge and skills.
• Operating inventory and POS systems.
• Parts and automotive system knowledge.
• Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.

Essential Job Skills

• Speak and write English (Spanish a plus). Build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
• Perform basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Prior Experience for Success

• 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.

Primary Responsibilities

• Safely deliver parts to commercial customers.
• Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
• Pick up returns and cores.
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers.
• Daily collection of credit accounts.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
• Support general stocking, including truck stocking and back stock.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be fleet safety certified.

Physical Demands

• The employee must be able to walk or stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel items. The employee must lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

• The employee will usually work inside but will occasionally be outside and exposed to various weather conditions while performing tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, vibration. Noise level is moderate.
