032920 – 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic – Steel (Open)
Role OverviewPerforms preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and systems according to established procedures.

- Ensures reliability of machinery by performing preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals, diagrams, and work orders.
- Uses hand tools and instruments to determine dimensional changes.
- Defines mechanical clearance and tolerances between shafts, bearings, and couplings.
- Conducts root cause analysis for major machine breakdowns.
- Assembles, installs, adjusts, and calibrates equipment.
- Dismantles, repairs, rebuilds, and replaces components as needed.
- Adheres to all plant safety policies and participates in safety, housekeeping, lean manufacturing programs.
- Provides guidance to junior maintenance colleagues.
- Manages work orders on the e‑Maint platform and reports completed tasks.
- Proposes improvements to preventive maintenance processes.
- Expertise in pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, bearing selection, gearboxes, clutch rebuilds, and servo motor replacement.
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or technical training in industrial maintenance, millwright, or mechatronics. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and Skills- Proficient with hand, power, and specialty tools.
- Operational knowledge of industrial machinery and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and work orders.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Capacity to troubleshoot, disassemble, reassemble equipment with limited supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
- Basic electrical knowledge: 480 VAC, 3‑phase motors, contractors, fuses, breakers.
- English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Hourly rate: $33.74 per hour. Eligible for short‑term incentive.
