Plant Engineer

Overview

American RENOLIT Corporation specializes in the manufacturing of plastic films that are used in the Graphics, Signage, and Labeling industry. Other films manufactured in La Porte are used as decorative surface lamination films in furniture applications, and some films are specifically engineered as laminates for exterior building components. Your tasks at RENOLIT include overseeing the facilities and their evolution and development, including new installation design and implementation.

• Design and implement building modifications and new equipment additions, including all legal proceedings such as permit acquisition and modification.
• Design and implement equipment installations.
• Design and implement modification of current installations.
• Design and implement utilities layout and distribution, including plumbing and power.
• Solicit bids from and select subcontractors for the above implementations.
• Assist Maintenance Manager, Process Engineer, and Production Manager, especially in facilities-related management and problem solving.
• Attend all required meetings.
• Maintain files for subcontractor bids, project budgeting, etc.
• Reduce subcontracting costs while maintaining quality through judicious selection.
• Assure the on-time and within-budget completion of all projects.
• Follow all relevant policies and procedures (Safety, 5S, and ARC policies).
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum five years' engineering experience.

• Negotiation skills, recommended experience.
• Recommended familiarity with plastics production.
• Technical drawing ability.
• Good communication skills required, including active listening and effective speaking.
