Responsibilities- The faculty member is responsible for the planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of instruction and related activities to promote student-centered learning.
- Perform assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend at the campus, center, or clinical location to which the faculty member is assigned.
- Primary areas of teaching responsibility include:
Medical Laboratory Technician. - Teach all classes according to an approved course syllabus and for the required duration.
- Use students’ learning styles to facilitate the best teaching and learning situations and incorporate instructional technologies as appropriate.
- Maximize learning opportunities for each student and keep students informed about course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance.
- Provide prompt grading and conduct individual student conferences as needed to show genuine concern for each student.
- Administrative duties include maintaining course syllabi, ensuring web-enhanced sections, utilizing college online resources, and professional communication with students and college personnel.
- Maintain accurate scholastic records, conduct class evaluations, submit academic reports timely, and attend all required meetings and activities.
- Participate in program and curriculum review, student learning outcomes assessment, and provide input on instructional materials and curriculum improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 3 years clinical practice
- Certification as CLS, CLT (NCA), MLS, MT (ASCP) or equivalent
- Communicate effectively in writing and orally
- Proficient computer skills and ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds and stand for extended periods; ability to bend, kneel, reach
CSM is actively accepting applications for adjunct positions at all campus locations. The college also has a significant need for passionate adjunct faculty to contribute to our Early College program. Early College classes are taught face-to-face between 8:15 am and 2:00 pm, two to four days a week.
