Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $77.910 - $100.530 - $112.590

You Will Do

This role will be assisting with emergency patient care, working with RN’s at the patient bedside, managing codes, and medication order verification.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm

    D)
  • ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association
    -REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association
    -REQUIRED
  • California Pharmacist License - CA State Board of Pharmacy
    -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training: completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with experience in Emergency Department practice or a specialized clinical residency in critical care/emergency care.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
    -PREFERRED
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) – maintain competency.
  • Preceptor experience.
Essential Functions
  • Clinical Advisory Services:
    Participate in daily clinical advisory activities, review medication profiles, provide therapeutic recommendations, document drug information requests, contribute to medication use evaluation programs.
  • Clinical Consult Services:
    Perform formal clinical consults, document recommendations, support specialty consult teams (e.g., pharmacokinetics, nutrition support, pain management).
  • Emergency Department Pharmaceutical Care:
    Review medication orders for accuracy, engage in critical care drug therapy management, support code emergencies, maintain formulary adherence, contribute to cost‑effective medication use.
  • Medication Reconciliation and Patient

    Education:

    Reconcile patient home medications, facilitate discharge or transfer, provide patient‑specific medication teaching.
  • Multidisciplinary Communication:
    Communicate with nurses and physicians, participate in staff orientation, support interprofessional collaborative teams, ensure timely patient‑centered communication.
  • Pharmacy Operations and Distribution:
    Oversee daily pharmacy workflow, dispense medications accurately, uphold medication safety standards, participate in inventory management, provide representation to nursing and physician teams regarding medication advisories.
  • Quality Improvement:
    Lead evidence‑based protocol development, support medication use monitoring, report adverse drug reactions, participate in hospital committees (infection control, disaster management, prescribing safety).
  • Regulatory:
    Maintain regulatory compliance, perform essential inspections, support medication storage security, participate in national patient safety guidance.
  • Research and Teaching Responsibilities:
    Mentor residents, support clinical pharmacy programs, contribute to clinical research and publication efforts, present educational content to health care community.
  • Safe Medication Practice:
    Participate in medication safety initiatives, analyze medication safety events, perform non‑voluntary monitoring, contribute to continuous improvement.
