General Purpose

As a member of Store Leadership, the Area Supervisor is responsible for a specific area of the Store, oversees general operations, and serves as Manager on Duty. Duties include opening/closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining an inviting environment, ensuring merchandise presentation, and executing Company processes.

Essential Functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
  • Practice safety as the top priority and maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor.
  • Secure the building, entrance/exit control, EAS devices, cash office, and register area.
  • Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Ensure customer safety, report incidents, and carry out emergency procedures.
  • Test all fire alarm systems and respond to after‑hours alarms when needed.
Customer Service
  • Treat customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
  • Acknowledge associates using Company recognition programs.
Personal and Store Brand
  • Represent and support the Company brand.
  • Maintain professional appearance in accordance with Dress Code.
  • Ensure all areas of the store are clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard.
  • Handle daily trash removal.
General Merchandising
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to Company standards.
  • Receive merchandise trucks and process inbound deliveries.
  • Keep stockrooms clean, organized, and maintain back‑stock security.
  • Support floor moves, signage, and promotional signing.
  • Reduce loss due to damage and ensure compliance with monthly presentation guidelines.
Loss Prevention
  • Implement Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintain a strong floor presence.
  • Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
  • Maintain PVM system and conduct package inspections.
  • Apply Company Best Practices to maximize productivity.
Front End Supervision & Operations
  • Execute Company Best Practices, coach associates on cash register operations, and manage back‑up schedules.
  • Ensure equipment works, supplies are stocked, and back‑goes are processed correctly.
  • Teach associates “Scan & Bag” best practice and ensure merchandise salability.
Fitting Rooms
  • Maintain cleanliness and audit garment tags.
  • Ensure compliance with go‑back policies and security tagging.
Administrative Duties
  • Conduct cash pulls, bank deposits, and register control when needed.
  • Handle payroll administration and associate scheduling.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS equipment and applications.
  • Basic mathematical calculation ability.
  • Availability for evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements / ADA

Ability to use all store equipment, stand, walk, bend, squat, lift more than 20–25 lbs, and operate janitorial equipment as required.
