Job DescriptionCreate an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor all quality assurance standards. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service, demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.
- Use equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients per recipe.
- Prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
- Check product quality for freshness and review sell‑by dates.
- Use kitchen equipment properly: stove, scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe, etc.
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
- Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to department manager.
- Locate products within the store layout.
- Stay current with ads and product knowledge to answer questions.
- Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperatures are maintained and logs kept.
- Promote trust and respect among associates.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
- Practice preventive maintenance and report needed repairs.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
