Description The Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center (KCPC) is seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Facility Superintendent Associate to serve as second-in-command within Kentucky’s only state-designated forensic psychiatric hospital. This administrative role provides critical leadership, operational oversight, and strategic support to the Facility Director in a complex, high-acuity behavioral health and forensic environment.
KCPC serves all 120 Kentucky counties and delivers court-ordered inpatient and outpatient psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and competency restoration services for adults charged with felonies or civilly committed by Kentucky courts. The Facility Superintendent Associate plays a vital role in ensuring organizational excellence, regulatory compliance, interdisciplinary coordination, and continuity of operations across clinical, security, and administrative domains.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Responsible for supervision and day-to-day operations of KCPC security, risk management, facility management, medical records, admissions and transcription departments.
- Provides administrative support to hospital director, functions as an Administrator On Call, performs duties of hospital director in their absence.
- Provides administrative supervision and oversees departmental functions of Security, Risk Management, Facilities Management, Medical Records, Admissions, and Transcription departments. This includes, but is not limited to, day-to-day operational oversight, policy and procedure compliance, and personnel management within these departments.
- Develops, reviews and updates facility policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with organization quality improvement initiatives.
- Acts as Administrator on Call when designated by hospital director.
- Duties include, but are not limited to, answering calls outside of business hours requesting facility procedure guidance in relation to emergency situations.
- Chairs facility committees as designated by hospital director.
- Collects, analyzes and interprets data to inform decision-making and prepares reports to communicate findings and support facility goals.
- Serves as facility liaison in capital projects as need.
- Provides administrative support services to Hospital director and Performs duties of hospital director in their absence.
The Ideal Candidate Would Have
- Knowledge of forensic psychiatric hospital operations and applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and accreditation standards
- Ability to provide senior-level administrative leadership in a complex, multidisciplinary and secure treatment environment
- Ability to assist with strategic planning, policy development, and implementation of organizational priorities
- Strong operational management skills, including oversight of clinical, security, and administrative functions
- Ability to analyze operational data, identify risks, and implement improvements related to quality, safety, and compliance
- Demonstrated ability to supervise managers and professional staff, including performance management and leadership development
- Ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, security, legal, and administrative disciplines
