The role of the Training & Certification Manager is to direct the organization's activities that provide skills training and education to shelter leaders, direct care staff, and volunteers who are on the front lines of serving survivors of domestic sex trafficking/exploitation, as well as content development specifically for survivors.

The Institute for Survivor Care is on the forefront of the field of survivor care. Therefore, we must be invested in listening to and learning from the sector in order to provide educational programming responsive to their needs. Below are the current training initiatives of the Institute for which the Manager has oversight:
- Survivor
U - an online learning platform that offers single modules and curated collections that respond to the needs of trafficking shelter staff and volunteers. The content is continually expanding and makes use of the Institute's network of shelter leaders to develop and record new material. - Equip
U - an online learning platform for allied professionals who work with victims of exploitation/trafficking in non-residential settings. - TCM Series - a series of on-site or on-location trainings designed to equip staff to serve residents in a shelter program (Emergency, Restorative, Minor).
- Certification Programs - programs that offer a professional credential attesting to the knowledge and skills required to serve victims of exploitation, including Direct Care Certification and Certified Peer Support for Exploitation program.
- Webinars - throughout the year the Institute offers a variety of live webinars on timely and relevant topics
- Ensure that Institute’s various learning offerings are responsive to service provider needs and continue to expand in scope and depth of content
- Develop a schema by which training content is reviewed and scheduled for update or archive to ensure currency and accuracy
- Pursue credentialing of the Institute’s content for CEUs and other certifications
- Monitor the use of the Institute’s online learning products and guide their marketing efforts for maximum exposure
- Develop the Institute’s cadre of adjunct faculty from practitioners in the field and survivors, who support the various offerings; ensure the faculty are versed in the Institute’s philosophy of care and are recognized for their contributions
- Solicit feedback from the field as to future titles to develop for our online learning platforms
- Coordinate with the Administration Office on contracts, MOUs, and expense reporting
- Track the consumption of the Institute’s offerings to recommend changes or strategic expansion
- Oversee the schedule and coordination of the Institute’s webinars in coordination with the other program departments
- Respond to requests for on-site training. Negotiate the terms, curate the agenda, align the faculty, evaluate the impact.
- Coordinate with Communications on the marketing/promotions of new or existing offerings
- May be included among the faculty, developing and teaching courses and/or recording material for inclusion in our various learning platforms
- May collaborate with Research on projects involving training or academic partners
- Demonstrated competency in adult learning theory and practice
- Proven skill in understanding the vocational knowledge and skills needed of a particular sector and creating/aligning instruction to build or advance those skills
- Specific expertise in using contemporary technology to deliver adult learning
- Familiarity with the process of credentialing education
- Proven experience and commitment to integrating Biblical principles into educational content
- Experience working with subject matter experts and adjunct faculty to support the curriculum
- Demonstrated skills in instructional design and multimedia communications
- Minimum of a master’s degree or comparable experience
- Willingly affirms and lives out the Institute’s Statement of Faith.
- This position is a full-time in-person salaried position based on an average of 40 hours/week.
- The organization’s headquarters is in the Louisville, Kentucky area. Preference is given to candidates who are local or willing to relocate.
- The Institute upholds a 90-day probationary period on new hires.
- Employees are granted 8 company-selected holidays and 10 days/year of paid leave, to be used as desired, with supervisor’s pre-approval.
- Employee must furnish his/her own computing and communications technology.
- Employee has the option of participating in employee health insurance, 401k program, and/or educational stipend benefit.
