We are hiring for a Software Engineer - TRACE here at Trane Technologies. This role will work as part of the Customer Driven Solutions (C.D.S.™) team focusing on a flagship proprietary software that Trane offers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is in the process of revamping a long-standing successful technology and the person in this role will help us shape the direction of future offerings—including exploring opportunities to leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence for enhanced product capabilities.
This position will require someone that thrives in a team environment, analysis, design, and creates logic for customer driven business needs. We are looking for a highly motivated, diligent, quality-centric, customer-focused, organized team-player with industry best-practice awareness, strong coordination, communication skills, and Software Quality Assurance to help improve our software tools. In this role, you will be responsible for Developing and Implementing Logic for the applications.

Where is the work:
From Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.
- Design, Create, and Maintain Logic.
- Identify bottlenecks, and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate these issues.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Develop routine tests and coordinate the testing effort.
- Develop Software Quality Assurance processes based on industry best-practices.
- Work with and coordinate between geographically distributed team members, users, and customers.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.
- Communicate with business users within all levels of the organization.
- Limited overnight travel is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS (or related IT degree) and at least 5 years of work experience is required.
- Understanding of the software development process.
- Strong background in productivity software & collaboration tools.
- Proven experience as a C++ developer or similar role.
- Familiarity with various C++ libraries and frameworks.
- Familiarity with SQL Databases.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft .NET Framework.
- AI/ML awareness and ability to apply data-driven approaches.
- Knowledge of multi-threading and concurrency.
- Knowledge of high-performance computing (HPC).
