FLSA:
Non-Exempt This is a mid-level maintenance position in the Facilities Department. Employees are selected and supervised by Facilities Management. Employees in this class perform semiskilled work in the maintenance of large public buildings. Employee performs work under moderate to close supervision depending on experience. Employees in this class perform duties incidental to repairs, cleaning, grounds, and related tasks, following safety practices and standards of the Facilities Department and the County.

Work may be assigned at any La Crosse County owned building or property.

Applies paint and stain, performs minor remodeling tasks and small building projects. Troubleshoots, repairs and winterizes underground water system.

Makes simple repairs to door locks and electrical appliances. Assists in the maintenance and adjustment of remote controlled, motorized, and operator controlled doors.

Maintains and operates pumps, motors and water softeners. Maintains and repairs all types of building equipment and furnishings.

Performs minor plumbing repairs including touchless faucets and toilets.

Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment for which skills in electricity, carpentry, plumbing, painting or other skilled trades are necessary. Replaces electrical breakers, switches, ballasts, and fixtures, window glass and screens.

Constructs, paints and repairs picnic tables, benches, fences and signs.
