Overview

FLSA:
Non-Exempt. This is a nursing position for Hillview Health Care Center of La Crosse County for a student nurse who is either currently enrolled in a nursing program leading to a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Nurse Technician performs those nursing tasks for which trained and in which the employee is able to demonstrate competency.

Location: Hillview Health Care Center

Shift: PM Shift (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM), every other weekend and holiday rotations

Essential Job Functions

As part of nursing care team, assists in formulating and carrying out a plan of care that meets the residents' holistic needs in accordance with nursing home policies and procedures.[2]

Under supervision of a registered nurse, provides direct nursing care including administering medications and treatments.[1]

Provides for the safety and wellbeing of the resident in accordance with nursing home policies and procedures.[2]

Serves as liaison between resident and RN in charge of resident's care. Communicates appropriate resident information to RN.[2]

Carries out physician's orders under the direction of a RN. Seeks clarification when communication/directions are not clear.[2]
