- Prepare and provide quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment that lead to student success.
- Foster student growth by recognizing diverse backgrounds and preparing students for success in the workplace or further education.
- Promote social justice within the division and the larger academic institution.
- Teach in a face-to-face format with terms in fall/spring.
- Implement classroom management and instruction supporting actions, including:
- Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect.
- Prepare coherent lesson plans aligned with competency-based learning and reflect knowledge of subject matter and students.
- Deliver courses via multiple modes of delivery and differentiate instruction to engage all students.
- Support student content knowledge and College Success Abilities.
- Use diverse teaching methods, assessments, and technologies aligned with objectives and outcomes.
- Utilize formative assessments to gauge learning, adjust instruction, and provide timely feedback.
- Incorporate performance-based and other summative assessments.
- Collaborate with programs, faculty, and teams to support learning and student success.
- Support student success through referrals to appropriate student services and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Convey the student code of conduct and establish clear classroom policies and procedures.
- Maintain safety, functionality, and sustainability of labs, classrooms, and clinical spaces.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice; model college values; participate in college initiatives and work groups.
- Maintain necessary credentials and professional development per accreditation and regulatory standards, and develop partnerships with students, coworkers, supervisors, and the community.
- Use college systems to maintain class records, develop curriculum, and measure quality outcomes to improve programs.
- Complete required college training and maintain the skills needed to perform essential functions.
- Support student success as a core college value, with flexibility to be assigned to other areas or duties as needed.
- Associate Degree with 3.5 years (7,000 hours) verifiable related occupational experience, one year (2,000 hours) of experience within 5 years of hire; OR
- Technical Diploma in the field with 4.5 years (9,000 hours) verifiable occupational experience, and willingness to obtain an Associate Degree within 5 years (Educational Reimbursement available).
- Experience with transmissions
- Teaching experience
- Eligible for or meets WTCS Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements.
- Hearing Baseline Test and Annual Audiogram
This position reports to:
Dean - Integrated Technology
Starting annual salary range based on education and experience: $60,400 - $81,545
