the college of arts, social sciences, and humanities (cassh) includes departments and programs in the humanities, social sciences and interdisciplinary studies, as well as departments in the school of visual and performing arts (vpa). Cassh / vpa continues the established liberal studies tradition of providing curricula leading to the bachelor of arts or the bachelor of science degree. Cassh / vpa is dedicated to providing quality innovative instruction and creative learning experiences which prepares students for future careers and education.
More broadly, such learning allows students to continue to develop meaningful, responsible lives. summary
under general supervision of the department chair, the person in this position is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses. In addition to preparing for and holding classes (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and/or online), teaching involves maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. The workload may also involve advising students and/or providing other service to the department.
Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.
- master’s degree or equivalent (except in rare circumstances where post‑baccalaureate certification or licensure or a baccalaureate plus experience can be established as appropriate qualifications)
- native or near‑native ability in the language to be taught
- native or near‑native ability in english
- evidence of teaching excellence
- all persons hired for academic instruction will be required to submit all of their official copies of their transcripts to human resources upon hire.
- master’s degree in the language to be taught
