As Senior expert Color at Envalior, you will lead new color development projects in close collaboration with (technical) Product Management, Product Development and Manufacturing. Your main responsibilities:

• Development of new Colors

• Technical Lead for the development of new colors for our Performance Material and Specialty grades produced in our Euopean plants (Uerdingen, Emmen, Genk).

• Define development criteria together with account manager/customer and product development specialist and/or (Global) Technical Product Manager

• Execute color development by coordination of activities at internal laboratories with our colorists in Uerdingen and Emmen or with our external Partners (color masterbatch suppliers)
• Efficient execution by optimal use of our resources to ensure shortest possible/required lead times (planning)

• Definition of color specifications (GRMS) with color MB suppliers and validation of color master batches according to these requirements

• Scale up and implementation of new colors in the plant in cooperation with the process development engineer including new raw material implementation in the plant (MOC plant process)

• Support on color aspects in raw material qualification projects, product developments and process developments and color related customer complaints in Cooperation with Product Development/(Global) Technical Product Manager and Manufacturing

• Responsible for color hardware in our QC and R&D Labs in Europe

• Qualification of new colorants according to Envalior’s qualification process

• Supporting GTPM Color on Collaboration with Data science team to enrich Envalior’s color software Lucidiris with Performance Material color data

• Advise production on color issues/steering (increase first time right - including training of manufacturing colleagues on relevant color topics)

• Answer color related question of M&S team and/or customers

• At least 5 years’ experience in color development preferably in the field of engineering polymers like PA6, PA66, PBT

• Master Degree or equivalent experience in polymer science, polymer chemistry or physics or a similar materials science field

• Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, result oriented and persuasive person.

• Team player who is able to work with and over various disciplines

• Strong curiosity towards ‘how things work’ and finding solution for technical challenges

• Proficient in spoken and written English

• Good communication and commercial affinity

• Experience and affinity to digitization topics is a plus.
