B.Ed. / Montessori Training (AMI / equivalent preferred).

Minimum  8–12 years  of teaching experience, with  at least 3–5 years  in a leadership role (Headmistress / Senior Coordinator / Academic Head).

Proven experience in CISCE (ICSE/ISC) schools.

Hands-on experience managing a Montessori laboratory

Position Overview

The Headmistress will serve as the academic and administrative leader of the school, ensuring excellence in teaching–learning practices, compliance with CISCE norms, and holistic development of students. The role demands strong instructional leadership, effective people management, and hands-on experience in Montessori-based early years education.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

Provide strategic academic leadership in alignment with CISCE (ICSE/ISC) curriculum guidelines.

Ensure effective curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation across all grades.

Monitor lesson planning, classroom transactions, assessments, and learning outcomes.

Lead initiatives to improve academic results and overall school performance.

Integrate experiential learning, skill-based education, and interdisciplinary approaches.

Montessori & Early Years Oversight

Supervise and guide Montessori curriculum implementation in pre-primary sections.

Ensure proper use, maintenance, and innovation within the Montessori laboratory.

Mentor teachers on Montessori pedagogy, materials, and child-centric practices.

Ensure smooth academic transition from Montessori to primary curriculum.

Faculty Management & Development

Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain teaching staff.

Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.

Organize in-house training, workshops, and professional development programs.

Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven work culture.

Student Development & Discipline

Promote a safe, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.

Address student behavioral, academic, and emotional concerns effectively.

Encourage co-curricular, extracurricular, and value-based education.

Ensure child safeguarding and well-being policies are strictly implemented.

Parent & Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain transparent and professional communication with parents.

Lead parent–teacher meetings, orientations, and grievance redressal.

Represent the school in official forums, inspections, and CISCE interactions.

Administration & Compliance

Ensure adherence to CISCE affiliation requirements and statutory norms.

Coordinate with management on academic planning, budgeting, and policy execution.

Oversee academic documentation, audits, inspections, and school reports.

Support admissions, timetabling, examinations, and academic calendars.

Key Competencies & Skills

Strong knowledge of CISCE curriculum and assessment frameworks.

Expertise in Montessori philosophy and early childhood education.

Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team management skills.

Effective communication (written and verbal) with all stakeholders.

Proficiency in academic planning tools, ERP systems, and MS Office.
