About the Role :

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate  Librarian  to join our team and support our mission of providing access to information, learning resources, and a welcoming space for our community. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an organized, service-oriented environment and is excited about supporting lifelong learning and literacy.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including circulation, cataloging, and reference services.
Assist patrons in locating materials and using library resources, including digital tools and databases.
Develop and maintain collections, including selecting, acquiring, organizing, and weeding materials.
Plan and lead programs and events such as book clubs, educational workshops, and community outreach.
Ensure the library remains an inclusive, respectful, and safe space for all patrons.
Maintain accurate records and statistics and generate reports as required.
Stay current with trends in library science, technology, and best practices.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science (MLS or MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program (or equivalent experience).
Experience working in a public, academic, or school library setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of library systems, digital resources, and cataloging standards (e.g., MARC, Dewey Decimal, LCSH).
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with library software (e.g., Koha, Sierra, Evergreen) and common digital tools.
