Overview
STUDENT SERVICES (KO-SSER-IUKOA). Reporting to the Head Coach, the Volleyball Assistant Coach will play an integral role in all facets of a nationally respected, championship-level National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) volleyball program. Located just 45 minutes north of Indianapolis in Kokomo, Indiana, the position offers the opportunity to work in an affordable, low cost-of-living community while gaining hands-on experience within a consistently elite program.
The team is coming off a 32 - 6 season with a number 12 national ranking, its fourth consecutive 30-win season, 11 straight national tournament appearances, 11 consecutive conference championships (including 3 undefeated conference seasons), and a consistent Top-15 national presence. This role is ideal for an aspiring collegiate volleyball coach seeking professional growth within a proven program structure that has successfully supported long-tenured assistant coaches across multiple sports.
- Assist with player development
- Prepare for matches and scouting
- Provide practice planning and court management
- Provide video breakdown and analytics
- Assist with recruiting
- Assist athletes to stay academically eligible
- Assist with fundraising
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education
- Required — Bachelor s degree
- Preferred — Master s degree
Work Experience
- 2 years of volleyball coaching and/or playing experience
Licenses and Certificates
- Valid driver s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated orientation toward quality service and teamwork
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
The person in this role must be able to move up to 30 pounds and must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation. Regular evening and weekend work is required. Opportunity to work up to 1,508 paid hours annually. Flexible structure allows coaches to maintain additional employment if needed.
Location and CompensationKokomo, Indiana — $13.00 per hour
