The Communications Officer provides brand management support and assists with the implementation of marketing, public relations, advertising, and promotional strategies. This role will create content and maintain brand tools for use across the organization in alignment with marketing priorities as set by the Marketing & Communications Director.

This is a full-time professional position as defined under the Foundation's personnel policy.
PositionSubject to supervision of the Marketing & Communications Director, the Communications Officer responsibilities include:
Donor Engagement & Communications- Launch and manage new donor engagement software platform
- Create compelling content for e-newsletters, annual report, social media, blog posts, and marketing materials
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications Director to develop and implement annual marketing strategy
- Produce donor-focused content that inspires giving and demonstrates community impact
- Manage daily operations of Facebook, Instagram, and Linked In accounts
- Create engaging content and schedule posts aligned with annual marketing plan
- Develop and execute strategies to increase Foundation visibility and engagement
- Monitor analytics and adjust approach based on performance metrics
- Maintain and update scholarship pages with current information and deadlines
- Create blog content and web copy that engages donors and highlights community impact
- Assist Marketing & Communications Director with website management, updates, and design improvements
- Ensure website content is accurate, current, and user-friendly
- Collaborate with the Scholarships Officer to develop and execute scholarship awareness campaigns targeting students and families
- Design and produce annual "Celebrating Our Scholars" publication
- Coordinate photo collection and recognition posts for scholarship recipients
- Assist with drafting press releases for scholarship awards
Other duties as assigned by the Marketing & Communications Director.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a high-functioning team.
- Ability to organize and facilitate effective meetings and present in front of groups.
- Passion for community service and the ability to work as part of a professional team.
- Attention to detail, working with minimal supervision and flexibility to adjust to workloads and deadlines.
- College degree or equivalent experience, preferably with emphasis on philanthropy, marketing, or communications.
- Experience with computer applications and ability to learn new systems including Foundation software and design software.
- Experience in communications and/or not-for-profit organizations.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite & Canva preferred.
- Understanding of basic photography
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Howard, Clinton, or Carroll Counties.

Annual salary range of $44,000 - $47,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
