The PACU Registered Nurse will be responsible for performing direct patient care postoperatively as part of a surgical care team. Responsibilities include assessing, documenting and managing postoperative pain, assessing airway adequacy and intervening quickly and appropriately when necessary, cardiac monitoring and interpretation, and demonstrating understanding and knowledge of all phases of recovery nursing principles and expectations.

The PACU Registered Nurse will possess strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills. The individual will demonstrate the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task, take direction well but also be self-directed and motivated, and show a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.

• Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited school of nursing, or three years related professional nursing experience.
• Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification within one year of employment.
• Must have 2 years experience for a PRN position.
