Qualifications

Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary setting, adhering to professional standards and ethical practices.

Licenses and Certifications:
Must hold and maintain a current, valid state OTA license or certification. Current CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
  • Experience: 0-1 years

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
  • Help patients perform exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve their functional abilities and independence.
  • Document patients’ responses to therapy, track progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support ongoing progress.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing observations and insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
