Job PurposeBorg Warner Power Drive Systems is currently looking for a dynamic, results‑driven individual to join as a Power Electronics Intern.
The Power Electronics Intern will perform the following tasks, as required by the engineering and technician teams: program assemblies, conduct inventory, lab clean‑up and reorganization projects, soldering and wire harness builds, thermal couple welding, testing, test box assembly, safeguard implementations, calibration, bench setups, purchasing, and packing/shipping/product transportation.
Key Responsibilities- Support engineering and technician activities such as test box assembly, product test, modification, fabrication of carts and safety covers, bench set‑ups, and assembly of thermal couples and wire harnesses
- Support lab tours with lab reorganizations and clean up
- Capital inventory – record test equipment model numbers, serial numbers, and locations
- Calibration – ensure all test equipment is calibrated by the due date
- Program assemblies with product code as guided by engineering and program management
- Effective time management, communication, and multitasking skills
- Work a flexible schedule to support attending school
- Document and communicate assembly and test results
- Work in a team environment
- Have a keen eye for safety
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or be a graduate from an accredited college
- GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or B average, upon initial hire date
- Ability to work 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during school breaks
- Self‑motivated with good time management skills and the ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Strong and effective verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with hands‑on problem‑solving skills
- Ability and desire to learn technical skills and develop creative approaches to solving difficult problems
- Drive to be part of the solution, actively seeking out tasks that can support the success of the team
- Mechanical inclination
- Microsoft Office skills – primarily Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
