Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer - UPE

The primary role of the Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer is to work with the Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs. This role supports all Manufacturing Engineering functions for North America powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine and transmission programs. Must be able to travel 21%-40%.

Main responsibilities include the following:

• Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies
• Understand engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ’s), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration
• Support and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budget
• Support all New Model (NM) program’s facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
• Support flow activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)
• Participate in the implementation of Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks
• Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure.
• Support the Engine, Transmission, e-components (Electric Drive Module, Motors) or Chassis (Battery Tray, Cradles, Cross Car Beams) Manufacturing Plants located in Dundee, Michigan (MI), Trenton, Michigan (MI), Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Saltillo, Mexico (MX);
  Transmission Plants in Kokomo and Tipton, Indiana (IN);
  Casting Plants in Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Etobicoke, Ontario (ON), Toledo, Ohio (OH), while maintaining a relationship with the Global CoC initiatives.
