Responsibilities- Welcome customers and maintain product knowledge, helping with merchandise selection.
- Respond to customer concerns promptly and with professionalism.
- Provide outstanding customer service and assist patrons in selection of goods or substitute items.
- Assume overall operations of the sales department: order merchandise, receive, price, and monitor stock levels.
- Support store management with price changes, markdowns, promotional sets, and signage.
- Communicate with HQ staff for special order requests and merchandise issues.
- Assist management team in training employees on all cash register and front‑end duties; provide input on employee evaluations.
- Operate cash register, accept cash, checks, credit cards; prepare and verify change funds; collect receipts; maintain daily activity reports.
- Manage register tapes, investigate discrepancies, maintain cash overage and shortage records; control change fund, safe, and cash registers.
- Open and close the store, including key carrier responsibilities.
- Supervise other employees and be responsible for overall store performance in the absence of management.
- Follow loss prevention policies; proactively address shrink and alert lines.
- Follow safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Work weekends.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.
- Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds; stand for long periods.
- Experience operating a cash register and knowledge of sales inventory.
- Previous retail supervisory experience.
- Current USCG NAF sales clerk with at least 6 months experience.
