Laborer JOB SUMMARY
The Laborer is an entry level position whose primary responsibility is to assist the on‑site project team in keeping the jobsite running smoothly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Sweeping shop floor, keeping work areas always uncluttered.
- Janitorial duties in shop and offices.
- Clean debris/snow from sidewalk, stairs, etc.
- Load and unload project materials.
- Move materials, tools, and equipment to and from various areas on the jobsite.
- Palletizing materials for shipment and material handling.
- Perform minor repairs to building fixtures and perform touch‑up painting.
- Assist in maintaining building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
- Periodically inventory supplies and equipment.
- Must work safely and in a team environment.
- Operate forklifts, and other equipment, as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
- Support AES zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- The ability to work 80.5 hours a week on a 4x2 rotation is required.
- A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of construction experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience working in the oil and gas industry, petrochemical industry, on the North Slope, or in an Arctic environment is preferred.
While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi‑Fi and internet is free and available within the camp.
Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self‑serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/theater room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on‑site orientation.
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A pre‑hire post‑offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee’s ability to safely perform to the job standard. WORKENVIRONMENT
A candidate must be able to meet the following non‑exclusive requirements:
- Meet the AES driving records and motor vehicle use policy.
- Take and pass a pre‑employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
- Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
- Required to take and pass a Fit‑For‑Duty Exam.
- Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
The availability of this position is contingent upon the company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
