Lead Environmental Consultant

The Lead Environmental Consultant will manage environmental services for clients transitioning to net‑zero, including renewable energy generation, power‑to‑liquid processes and the emerging hydrogen sector.
Responsibilities- Provide regulatory advice and support implementation of IED, BAT and other mandatory directives.
- Lead permitting applications (SWIP, MCP) and manage specialist sub‑contractors.
- Scoping, preparation and submission of environmental assessments for planning, permits and regulatory reviews (air quality, flood risk, containment review).
- Act as Technical Advisor on all environmental matters and maintain client confidence.
- Manage key performance indicators, line‑management duties and resource allocation to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Degree in an environmental discipline.
- Excellent knowledge of environmental legislation, policy and best practices.
- Professional affiliation or membership of an appropriate body.
- Significant experience in a consultancy environment or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, time‑management and customer‑focus skills.
- Proficient IT skills (Office 365, One Drive, SharePoint).
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility to live and work in the UK.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check level (SC clearance) for this role.
