Teaching Assistant
Altrincham (WA15)
£24,570 – £25,935
Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Leader Group is delighted to be working in partnership with a respected Therapeutic Education Service provider to recruit an Experienced SEN Teacher Assistant for an exciting specialist SEND school in Knutsford.
Purpose of the Role
The Teaching Assistant will support teaching and learning by working alongside teachers to deliver education and care for pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The role plays a vital part in creating a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with learning activities, adapting approaches to meet individual needs under teacher guidance
Assist pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches
Support behaviour management in line with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct
Encourage pupil engagement, participation, and independence in learning
Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources
Support record keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed
Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment
Requirements
Relevant education, training, or a willingness to undertake further professional development
Experience supporting pupils in an educational or care setting
Experience working with pupils with SEND and complex needs
Awareness of safeguarding, behaviour management, and SEND principles
Ability to support teaching and learning effectively under supervision
Commitment to professional conduct and safeguarding responsibilities
Patience, empathy, adaptability, and a positive, can-do attitude
