About the Role: This student position is designed to provide experience with basic preventative maintenance activities and exposure to more complex diagnostics and repairs. The student will be required to complete the following tasks individually or under direct supervision: perform oil changes and inspections of all vehicle types; perform minor repairs (ex. brake lights, headlights, spotlights, tires) identified during preventive maintenance inspections;
replace brakes on vehicles with a GVW of 20,000 or less; drive noncommercial vehicles into the shop from KUB campus; raise/lower vehicles onto lifts; assist trained technicians with larger more complex diagnostics and repairs; receive all applicable safety and job preparedness training.
Physical Requirements:
Requires bending, stooping, lifting, and working in awkward and strenuous positions to repair or inspect vehicles and construction equipment. Requires above normal mental and visual alertness quite frequently. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and/or exceed those demands described above.
- Must be a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or technical school with a program duration of 12+ months
- Must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
- Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 2:30 pm and 11:00 pm
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license

Preferred Requirements
- Pursuing an education in Automotive Technology, Collision Repair Technology, or Diesel-Powered Equipment Technology
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
