Convergint is looking for a full‑time, enthusiastic, results‑driven, and forward‑thinking Security Technician to join our amazing culture. In this hybrid project/service role, you will install, program, start‑up/check‑out, certify, and perform end‑user training on assigned projects. This role also provides service and technical support for installed systems by responding to service calls, performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities, and supporting service agreements.

- Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Install, program, test, commission, certify, troubleshoot, repair, and service Fire, Security, Life Safety, and/or Building Automation Systems for small to medium projects and service activities.
- Respond to routine and non‑routine customer service calls, including scheduled maintenance, preventative maintenance, emergency, and after‑hours calls, in a timely and professional manner, diagnose issues, replace defective components, debug systems, and complete required repairs.
- Serve as a primary technical interface for customers by providing system support, training, and technical assistance, maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and specifications to determine installation and repair procedures; utilize standard test instruments, hand tools, and electronic knowledge to resolve system and equipment issues.
- Execute many of the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets including programming, graphics development, start‑up, certification testing, customer training, close‑out documentation, and ongoing technical support.
- Complete accurate, timely, and detailed service reports, work orders, and project documentation to support invoicing, job cost tracking, compliance, and internal reporting requirements.
- Perform all work in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations and company health and safety policies and procedures; use solid troubleshooting practices and always follow established standards.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center and the company.
- Maintain current knowledge of Convergint products, services, tools, and standards; present a professional image and identify opportunities to promote Convergint services.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
