HVAC Lead Install Technician

Based in Knoxville, TN | Hiring: HVAC Lead Install Technician at Standard Air Conditioning

Pay: Earn an equivalent of $30 - $48/hour
, with hourly pay plus commission

Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional on-call opportunities.

As our HVAC Lead Install Technician, you will start your day from home and head directly to job sites. You’ll diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in customers' systems, explain issues clearly, and offer long‑term solutions. Your responsibilities include residential and light commercial repairs, maintenance, and emergency repairs as needed. Using a tablet and mobile phone, you will manage tasks and provide exceptional service while addressing customer queries.

Your role is essential in ensuring customer comfort and maintaining high HVAC service standards.

• 2+ years of experience working independently as a service technician
• 2+ years of hands‑on HVAC diagnostic experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
• Self‑motivated to complete assigned tasks within time constraints
• Driven to succeed and able to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to be on-call periodically
• Ability to work in small and confined dark spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, etc.
• Ability to climb a ladder up to roof height
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 75lbs
• Ability to occasionally shoulder and overhead lift up to 25lbs. Ability to push/pull a wheeled cart up to 150 lbs.
• Experience in presenting options to customers is preferred
• A NATE certification is a plus
