OverviewThe Associate is responsible for completing in‑store food and non‑food demonstrations. The role requires acquiring and maintaining knowledge of products represented, serving, demonstrating, intercepting consumers, and selling products in a professional manner. The Associate ensures proper event execution equipment, maintains a professional appearance, and upholds company standards.
Responsibilities- Management and maintenance of event equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and secured.
- Communicate with store management about upcoming and past events when the Supervisor is absent.
- Act as the point person for all events conducted in the store during the Supervisor’s absence.
- Assist other Event Specialists with event kits, materials, and tools as needed.
- Provide leadership and knowledge to the team.
- Gain adequate product knowledge and proactively engage consumers to sell products.
- Perform all job responsibilities assigned to the demo program.
- Communicate product features and benefits effectively.
- Prepare and serve food samples, involving raw meats, produce, and eggs, following food safety guidelines.
- Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation using cleaning chemicals.
- Set up and prepare event tables for execution.
- Complete all assigned work and prepare for client visits, addressing audit corrections.
- Build rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- File expense reports according to company policy.
- Submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
- Take digital photos of the perfect table setup to document success stories for clients.
This role is not expected to exceed more than 25 hours per week; however, the company may modify the role based on business needs.
Additional tasks may be performed as directed by management. The successful candidate must be able to perform essential duties and may be required to follow any other job‑related instructions.
QualificationsEducation/
Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer
Skills:
Proficient with personal computer and mobile device applications and internal systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Food Safety Professional Certification, local food handlers permit if required.
Physical Demands: The employee will be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms (including overhead), talk and hear, read instructions, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including use of a 6’ ladder), balance, lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds), push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies and product, prepare foods using raw products, and be in contact with cleaning supplies.
Working Conditions: Retail store environment with limited travel.
Physical Appearance: Professional appearance and grooming; specific retailer dress code to be provided in training.
