Forefront Healthcare is a unique, experienced provider specializing in the continuum of care, delivering high‑quality culinary and support services to elevate patient and resident experiences.

Position Summary

The Cook prepares food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, ensuring patient safety. Responsibilities include assisting in all resident, family, and employee meal preparation, delivering orders, and executing duties directed by the GM and/or Executive Chef.

Essential Job Functions
  • Follow standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards; complete daily production and waste logs.
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality standards.
  • Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods to maintain established temperature goals.
  • Inspect food products and supplies in absence of Executive Chef.
  • Assist in storage of supplies and food products.
  • Notify General Manager of supply or equipment needs, report breakdowns and unsafe conditions.
  • Comply with health and sanitation regulations and procedures.
  • Perform other department duties assigned by GM/Executive Chef.
Qualifications
  • Minimum one year food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting.
  • Preferred two years in food and beverage operation.
  • General knowledge of quantitative food preparation and portioned serving.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, and work assignments.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including during emergencies.
  • Patient and tolerant towards staff, patients, and family members.
Education Requirement
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • High‑school graduate or equivalent; preference for education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets.

Physical Demands

The Cook stands and walks intermittently, reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries, and manipulates various food products and equipment. Must work with cleaning agents and lift/carry 50–75 pounds.

Additional Information

Hourly Wage: $19.00 an hour
