Position Summary:

The Dishwasher plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen by ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and food preparation equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored. This position supports the food service team by maintaining a clean and safe working environment in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using dishwashing machines or by hand.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area, including sinks, floors, and storage areas.
• Properly sort and store clean items in designated locations.
• Remove trash, replace liners, and ensure waste disposal areas are kept sanitary.
• Assist with general kitchen cleaning duties, including wiping down surfaces, sweeping, and mopping.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations (KCHD standards).
• Report any maintenance or equipment issues to supervisor immediately.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic prep or restocking as needed.
• Follow all workplace safety guidelines and use protective equipment when required.

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs. for extended periods.
• Commitment to teamwork and supporting kitchen operations.

• Exposure to heat, moisture, cleaning chemicals, and noise.
• Requires flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
