Registered Vet Technician

Animal Health Centers is currently seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician at our Knoxville location. Do you enjoy a fast-paced environment? The successful candidate must have excellent office skills, be computer savvy, have an outgoing personality and display a helpful attitude.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assisting with X-rays

• Draw blood from animals, run and log bloodwork

• Prep animals for surgery & monitoring post-surgery animals

• Administer catheters

• Putting together surgery packs

• Get weight & temp for all patients

• Cleaning up after animals

• Administer medications

• Assist front desk with scheduling, pulling charts for daily appointments

• Answer multi-line phone & schedules appointments.

• Check to make sure all dogs are current on vaccinations, deworming, fecal, heartworm testing, and preventative care.

• Keep lab, surgery room and exam rooms organized and clean

• Check surgery and medical patients in and out of the hospital

• Maintain patient records & files

• Type hospital documents

• Wash and dry laundry for surgery animals
The hours are ideal if you would like to work 36 – 40 hours/week. This includes a 4-hour shift every other Saturday morning.

• Veterinary Technician License

• 2-3 years’ experience is preferred.

• Ability to multi-task with time management and organizational skills

• Ability to deal with clients in a mature manner.
