We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager, Surgical Services to provide 24‑hour leadership and operational oversight of a surgical nursing unit. This is an opportunity for a high‑performing clinical leader to influence patient outcomes, strengthen team engagement, and drive excellence within a mission‑driven environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered nursing care, providing 24‑hour administrative and clinical leadership for the assigned unit, and aligning unit operations and performance with organizational strategic goals and standards of excellence.

Responsibilities Clinical & Quality Leadership- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, evidence‑based patient care
- Oversee nursing practice, documentation accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Promote a culture of patient safety, confidentiality, and professional communication
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient, coordinated care
- Monitor quality metrics and lead continuous performance improvement initiatives
- Recruit, hire, orient, and evaluate nursing staff
- Develop staffing plans to ensure appropriate coverage and skill mix
- Support professional development and succession planning
- Foster accountability, engagement, and staff retention
- Model and maintain high standards of clinical competency
- Develop and manage departmental budgets
- Oversee daily operations within established financial guidelines
- Maintain operational reports and ensure regulatory documentation compliance
- Collect and analyze data to support performance improvement and regulatory standards
- Serve as a liaison between nursing, medical staff, and ancillary departments
- Ensure clear and effective communication across the unit and facility
- Align departmental goals with organizational and system‑wide strategic objectives
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred
- Required within three (3) years of hire if not already obtained
- Minimum three (3) years of recent clinical experience
- Two (2) years of leadership or managerial experience preferred
- Current and active Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license
This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $78,000–$131,000, based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
